November is here bringing daylight savings, the holiday season and colder weather! Are you ready for that first big snowfall?
If not, we suggest putting a plan in place. As with many jobs, prevention and preparation will help keep your property maintained and lessen the workload later on. Make sure your shovels, snow-blowers, sand and other winter weather necessity are either out of storage or stocked somewhere accessible.
When a storm is expected, salting or sanding beforehand is ideal. Once the snow starts to fall, shoveling or blowing a few inches at a time will often prove easier than trying to move snow a foot thick. Don’t make it harder than it needs to be! Removing right away will also help reduce layers of snow and dangerous ice.
Our team at Environmental Logistics has been gearing up for the winter weather since September, ready to go for that first snowfall. If commercial snow removal sounds like a better option for you, there are a few things to keep in mind:
- Make sure you know what your package entails – is it only snow removal, or does it involve clearing ice, etc.
- Do they take your requirements for your property into account?
- Ask about their policies and procedures when on-site and off
However you choose to prepare, now is the time!
